In my classroom, we are creating a safe, fun, welcoming, positive, and respectful learning environment so everyone feels loved, supported, and comfortable in their educational journey. We will all grow together this school year!
Hi everyone! My name is Dhanya Chandrasekharan (Ms.C) and I am so excited about being your student's second-grade teacher! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University (go Sun Devils!!).
Last school year, I taught 3rd grade at Union Park. I student-taught in 2nd grade at Desert Sage Elementary and I am so excited to teach 2nd grade again!
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, and moved to Phoenix in June of 2019 with my family. I have a sister who goes to Mountain Ridge and a 5-year-old dog named Nala. Growing up, I had the most amazing teachers and they inspired me to become one myself! Some hobbies I have are thrifting, reading, making jewelry, going to concerts, and traveling.
I will cultivate an environment in my classroom that is positive and allows students to feel safe, comfortable, and enjoy learning so they can be successful. With my teaching philosophy, I hope to bring an empathetic, enjoyable, and comforting approach to my classroom. When students have positive emotions associated with school, they will feel more comfortable immersing themselves in learning, causing them to have a positive learning experience where they can progress in their education. I truly believe in creating a safe, fun, welcoming, positive, respectful, and comfortable learning environment for students so they feel loved and supported in their educational journey.
