Nicole Rider - Social Studies & Science

We use a variety of resources and materials from Mystery Science & Stemscopes, where students perform investigations and inquiries to learn about the Engineering Design Process and scientific principles.

The units we cover in science are All About Matter, Force & Motion, Earth & Moon, and Adaptations & Environments.

In Social Studies, we review Geography in terms of maps/regions and Colonial America. Then we start with the American Revolution and go all the way to Industrialism. Somewhere along the timeline, we take a look at our branches of government. Using our current McGraw-Hill adopted curriculum, class discussions, research, and projects, we will learn about these topics in order to gain mastery of our standards related to these topics.
