Below you will find resources to help your students if they want extra practice on the recorder.

Recorder First Steps! 

1. Left Hand over Right Hand is "Always Right!"

2. Use warm slow air when playing. (think fogging a mirror)
3. Use the following progression when practicing.
   • Learn the rhythm
   • Learn the solfa (do, re, mi, ... etc)
   • Learn the note names while fingering along on recorder
   • Finally, play the piece on the recorder.
4. Most important of all... remember that with any new skill, it takes time and practice. No one learned to walk or ride a bike in one day.
